Position Summary
We are a small dynamic team within the Special Education department that is committed to facilitating educational outcomes for students that reflect their interests abilities and potential. We divide schools geographically among our team enjoy each other as coworkers and appreciate the unique role we play in serving the students of KIPP Public Schools. The caseloads are very manageable and we have planned for growth in each of these positions.
The available therapist position will work with our 5 KIPP schools in the Stockton area. This position is Fulltime inperson and reports to the Lead of the OTAPE team.
Required Qualifications
Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
Certification through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
Current license to practice Occupational Therapy through the California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT)
Experience:
Prefer a Minimum of 3 years of experience providing occupational therapy services (but not required)
Prefer a minimum of 1 year of experience providing occupational therapy services to children in school settings
Education:
Knowledge/skills required:
Demonstrated knowledge of various schoolbased Occupational Therapy assessments
Demonstrated desire and success in working with students and families from educationally underserved areas.
Ability to work independently in school settings
Ability to travel within the SF Bay Area with own transportation (mileage reimbursed between schools). The position will be based out of Stockton but the therapist may be expected to travel 12 times per month to other cities within the Bay Area.

Physical Mental and Environmental Demands
Physical: Ability to navigate office and school campuses and hold meetings in different spaces. Traditionally much of the day involves moving. Ability to access and utilize technology. Occasional lifting/carrying of equipment 130 lbs. Physical agility to move oneself in various positions to execute duties effectively which may include kneeling walking pushing/pulling squatting twisting turning bending stooping and reaching overhead
Mental: Stress of deadlines and normal work standards ability to analyze problems and generate alternatives make professional decisions work with interruptions concentrate for long periods read calculate perform routine math problems memorize and recall objects and people.
Environmental: School environment subject to constant interruptions and distractions. Frequent school environment movement 75% of the time and travel as needed less than 10% of the time. KIPP adheres to health and safety guidelines as outlined by the CDC CDE and public health agencies recommendations.
Classification
This is a fulltime exempt position based on a school calendar. Occupational Therapists are paid a 10.5month salary across 12 months of pay periods. The start date is July 1 and the end date is June 30. Position is considered an Regional position but the OT will have a homebased school out of one of the KIPP Stockton Schools.
Must possess a valid California drivers license and have access to reliable transportation for workrelated travel.

We benchmark annually against comparablysized nonprofit organizations and school districts in the regions where we operate to offer competitive salaries. The salary range for this position uses a step scale based on years of experience. The usual starting range is between $9200 and $109000 depending upon experience.
