Position Summary
The Community Dietitian provides health education and care within their scope of practice for clients of Mount Carmel Clinic. As a member of a clientcentered interdisciplinary team the Community Dietitian provides care to individuals promoting wellness prevention of disease and/or disability and the management of chronic diseases/conditions. The Community Dietitian adopts a longterm approach to client care consistent with the philosophy of harmreduction and as a means to ensuring continuity of care for the client.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent with a major in Foods and Nutrition Required
- Registered Member in good standing of the College of Dietitians of Manitoba Required
Skills Expertise and Experience
- Experience providing dietitian services to members of target populations (diabetics pregnant/parenting women infants clients struggling with poverty)
- Demonstrated understanding of issues facing communities experiencing poverty (north end/ Point Douglas) food deserts and other povertyrelated challenges

Proven knowledge and ability in critical thinking decisionmaking problemsolving and conflict resolution skills
Focus on Results
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and focus workrelated activities to effectively and efficiently achieve goals and produce expected results/outcomes
