Quality Assurance Temporary Assistant Mechanical Technician
Position: Quality Assurance PER Team Temporary Assistant Mechanical Technician
Core hours Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
Location: Engineering Laboratory Easton PA and / or Braden Facility
Reports to: Quality Engineering Supervisor
Position: Quality Assurance PER Team Temporary Assistant Mechanical Technician / Material handler
Core hours Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
Location: Engineering Laboratory Forks and / Braden / Palmer Facilities
Reports to: QA Engineering Team
Scope: Perform mechanical disassembly on a variety of products and separate materials into various type bins for recycling. Works safely and independently when given a variety of project work.
Stage and move scrap and inprocess materials to various facilities as needed using company vehicle and powered lift trucks.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Disassemble products and materials associated with post analysis of closed out PERs.
2. Use and safe use of various hand tools both manual electric pneumatic battery powered to complete disassembly of various products. Tools provided.
3. Use of manual pallet jacks and hand carts to move materials to process staging stations. Some intermittent use of overhead cranes may be utilized on minimal basis. ( One person 40 lb max lift )
4. Operate forklift ( Min. 1 year experience desired ) High racker lift ( To be trained and certified )
5. Maintain records and logs of scrap summary. Record hours to complete projects.
6. May support QA PER technicians in day to day functions as needed.
8. Maintain an efficient professional organized and clean work area.
9. Follow all company safety requirements and procedures. Participates in various safety training as required. Approved steel toe shoes safety glasses mandatory. Protective gloves and hearing protection as needed.
Qualifications:
1. High School diploma / GED equivalent
2. Capable of taking verbal and written instructions. Good communications skills. 3. Strong mechanical aptitude and good organizational skills. Knowledge of tools and use.
4. Able to work effectively and independently with limited supervision.
5. Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
6. Minimum 1 year lift truck experience preferred Able to train to operate high racker lift.
7. Valid PA drivers license.
8. Previous experience in a mechanical trade desired but not mandatory
9. Knowledgeable of basic Microsoft office products ( Outlooks / Teams / Word / Excel )
