Within the context of a multidisciplinary plan within a school setting for the child and family provides diagnostic and remedial physiotherapy services to the child with physical disabilities to maintain and improve joint range of motion strength endurance coordination mobility and physical independence through exercise handling use of adaptive equipment and therapeutic modalities to support educational outcomes. May provide work direction and/or training to Physical Medicine Assistants Educational Assistants Teachers and other caregivers.
Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle.
Graduation from a recognized university program in Physiotherapy. Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Physiotherapist. Eligible for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA). Minimum one year experience in pediatric physiotherapy or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Valid BC Drivers License.
