None/Not RequiredCollins Aerospace is looking to one Mechanical Repair Technician I position that will support our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility. You will be responsible for performing complete operation checkouts modifications disassembly repairs reassemble diagnoses and correction of problems. You will have the opportunity to repair critical components that make flying possible and safe for you your loved ones and for travelers around the world. The position is currently working onsite at our Foley AL facility.
What You Will Do:
- Work 1st shift hours 5:15am2:15pm Monday Thursday. 5:15am 11:15am on Fridays
- Work 2nd shift hours if needed (1:15pm 11:45pm) MT (Fridays off) with occasional overtime work as needed.
- Rework and repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
- Tests parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications.
- Identify units that fail tests or tolerance levels repairs as necessary.
- Follows repair and return processes to ensure high quality and short cycle time of repair and return.
- Sets up necessary repair and test facilities.
- You will work in a team environment
- Lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Safely perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 Year of relevant experience is required
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen permanent resident refugee or asylee status) as defined here:
- We Prefer:
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints diagrams and engineering drawings to assemble equipment.
- Experience with any of the following: hand tools electrical tools hand cutters measuring equipment light equipment drill motors and power tools
- Automotive repair work experience such as the overhaul of engines or paint & body work
- Aviation mechanical experience.
- Ability to pass a PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicle) medical examination as required.
- Experience with operating forklift and overhead cranes.
