ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
AKT Engineering is looking for a motivated Apprentice Boilermaker/Welder to take the first step in a rewarding career. This handson role offers the opportunity to work with experienced professionals develop essential trade skills and contribute to highquality engineering projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gain practical handson experience in metal fabrication welding and assembly.
- Assist experienced boilermakers and welders in manufacturing and assembling key engineering components.
- Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure precision and quality.
- Participate in quality control processes inspecting and evaluating welds and materials.
- Adhere to safety procedures and engage in ongoing safety training to maintain a safe working environment.
- Support the upkeep and maintenance of welding equipment and machinery.
- Assist with material handling and inventory management in the workshop.
- Collaborate with a skilled team to complete projects efficiently and to a high standard.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- A strong interest in building a career as a Boilermaker/Welder.
- Ability to follow instructions and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
- A positive attitude and a collaborative mindset.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a handson role.
- Physical fitness to handle moderate lifting and work in varying environments
