Project Overview:
Bechtel National Inc. (BNI) Bechtels government services business is one of the top providers to departments and agencies of the U.S. and British governments. Its successes include many large firstofakind projects in government site management environmental restoration defense space energy and national and homeland security. This position will provide support to the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) located at the Y12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge Tennessee.
UPF is a multiyear multibilliondollar project and will be a firstofitskind complex for enriched uranium operations in support of Y12 missions. UPF is one of the Department of Energys largest investments in Tennessee since the Manhattan Project and one of the National Nuclear Security Administrations largest construction projects. When complete UPF will: replace a 70yearold facility with modern buildings reduce operational costs and energy consumption improve worker safety and provide enriched uranium capabilities well into the future.
The UPF project works on a 4/10 schedule. Start times are flexible but the standard work week is: Monday Thursday from 7:00am to 5:30pm.
Eligibility for this position requires US citizenship; successful candidate must provide proof of US citizenship in order to obtain badge access to the site. Candidate must complete security questionnaire and successfully clear site access requirements check. All employees are subject and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment. Must be able to obtain a security clearance as applicable.
Job Summary:
In this role you will provide project field engineering support with work planning and packaging material management quantity verification and validation safety and quality control technical inspection and testing knowledge and coordination of system turnover. Your work will contribute to ensuring field engineering activities operate safely are complete and conform to quality standards and project requirements.

Safety / Quality Control
Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
Technical
Proactively considers continuous learning or show interest to pursue appropriate learning activities.
System Turnover Coordinator
Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development. Additional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesEducation and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelors degree (or international equivalent) and 25 years of relevant experience or 69 years of relevant work experience.
Must be a US citizen.
Must be able to complete and pass a preemployment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
Must be able to obtain a site security badge for access to the worksite.
Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and participate in project walkdowns which may require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site climbing ladders climbing scaffolding using fall protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE) walking on elevated platforms walking on uneven surfaces and maneuvering around very small and/or confined spaces.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Indepth knowledge in the areas of and knowledge of principles and practices related to Construction Startup Testing and Turnover.
Good knowledge of related construction and engineering practices and the economics involved.
Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and design criteria.
Excellent computer skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience preparing presenting and processing turnover documentation.
