POSITION SUMMARY Responsible to Unit Director for overall nursing practice. Includes the responsibility for assessment of childbearing women (adolescence to middle adulthood) neonates and family needs the development of a plan of care to meet those needs implementation of nursing interventions and evaluation of nursing care based on outcomes for the population served. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Completion of an accredited registered nurse program required Knowledge Skills Abilities: Effectively functions as a team member and as a liaison between patient and staff. Supports and encourages harmonious communication skills. Job requires strong verbal nonverbal and written communication skills. Communicates in highly professional manner at all times. Demonstrates a high level of mental and emotional tolerance and even temperament when dealing with ill people; uses tact sensitivity sound judgment and a professional attitude when relating with patients families and coworkers at all times. License/Certification/Registration: Current Pennsylvania RN licensure. Meets the American Heart Association s standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years. Holds the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification and renews NRP every two years. Meets the American Heart Association s standards for Healthcare Provider Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) renews ACLS every two years. SUPERVISION RECEIVED Receives minimal supervision from the Director Women & Children s Services.
Shift: Night with possible rotation to Days; 312s per week every other weekend
