Job Description

Adelphi is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to provide services at a school district in Rochester New York. The nurses will be required to provide 1:1 nursing services to special education students.

Contract Term: One year potential for longterm contract

Rate: $ 38 per hour

Requirements:

Active New York State LPN License

Current BLSAED training/certification required

Clinical experience in providing nursing services to students with disabilities

Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 nursing care to assigned students in accordance with their Individualized Education Program (IEP) and nursing care plans

Administer medications and perform medical treatments including but not limited to gtube feeding tracheostomy care and seizure management

Ride the school bus with the student when required to ensure medical support during transport

Collaborate and communicate effectively with school personnel families and outside medical providers

Maintain accurate and timely documentation including Medication Administration Records (MARs) attendance and care logs

Respond to student medical emergencies and initiate emergency medical services as needed

Maintain professional standards of nursing practice in accordance with federal and state laws

Maintain hygienic and safe work environment ensuring student safety and wellbeing at all times

Perform other duties as assigned by the school district or nursing supervisor
