Profile Requirements:

  • 3 years of experience in payroll processing specifically in multistate U.S. payroll.
  • Solid knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations tax laws and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with payroll software (e.g. ADP Paychex Gusto QuickBooks Payroll etc.).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace.
  • Strong attention to detail confidentiality and data accuracy.

Core responsibilities:

  • Process biweekly/semimonthly payroll for employees across multiple U.S. states ensuring accuracy timeliness and compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Maintain payroll records and reports in accordance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Set up and maintain employee payroll information including tax withholdings benefits deductions direct deposits garnishments and bonuses.
  • Liaise with finance and HR to ensure accurate payroll inputs and data consistency.
  • Reconcile payrollrelated general ledger accounts and assist with monthend and yearend payroll closings.
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and coordinate with external vendors where applicable.
  • Assist in onboarding/offboarding employees with respect to payroll and HR documentation.
  • Maintain digital employee files related to payroll benefits and compliance.
  • Support benefits administration including enrollments deductions and changes.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll benefits or administrative procedures.
  • Prepare reports and summaries for management as needed.
  • Support ad hoc administrative tasks related to HR and operations.

NOTE: This is a permanent remote position structured as an Independent Contractor arrangement. Selected candidates must have their own equipment and reliable internet connection. Additionally they will be responsible for managing their own taxes and benefits. Compensation is offered on a biweekly basis.
