MidLine Automotive Technician Job Description The MidLine Technician performs routine and moderately complex vehicle repairs and maintenance services under the guidance of senior technicians or service managers. This includes diagnosing mechanical issues performing part replacements and ensuring vehicles meet manufacturer and dealership standards. Key Responsibilities: Perform diagnostic procedures using dealershipprovided tools and equipment. Conduct scheduled maintenance services including oil changes brake repairs fluid flushes tire rotations and alignments. Replace and repair belts hoses batteries alternators starters and other mechanical components. Conduct suspension exhaust and drivetrain repairs as needed. Assist in performing engine and transmission diagnostics and minor repairs. Ensure all work is completed efficiently and accurately while following OEM guidelines. Document repairs services performed and parts used in dealership software. Work alongside senior technicians to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues. Maintain a clean and organized workspace and comply with safety procedures. Follow all manufacturer and dealership training requirements to stay up to date on vehicle technology. Qualifications & Requirements: Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications preferred or willingness to obtain them. 2 years of automotive repair experience in a dealership or independent shop. Experience using diagnostic tools scan tools and repair manuals. Ability to perform light and midlevel engine repairs including gaskets timing belts and cooling system work. Proficiency in reading repair orders and technical service bulletins (TSBs). Valid driver s license and clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Strong problemsolving and teamwork skills. Preferred Qualifications: GMcertified training or dealership experience is a plus. Experience working with Buick GMC Chevrolet or other GM brands. Familiarity with General Motors (GM) diagnostic systems and software. Strong communication skills and ability to work with service advisors and customers. must have experience running a parts department
