Summer Laboratory Technician I, (Part-time) Eurofins Environment Testing, West Sacramento, CA

Laboratory Technician I responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

The Laboratory Technician I using general laboratory methods techniques equipment and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing Quality Assurance programs and SOPs supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas equipment instruments and supplies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Retrieves samples from Sample Control for analysis.

Performs sample preparation which may include but is not limited to a combination of the following methods:

• Aliquot samples
• Spike and trace samples Prepare reagents
• Bottle samples
• Prepare concentrations Separation
• Sonication
• Liquid rack set up

Resolves discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.

Prepares general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results tracking samples bench sheets and laboratory logbooks.

Washes laboratory glassware to prepare for next days samples.

Secondary Duties

1. Stocks laboratory supplies.
2. Cleans work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
3. Assists other laboratory areas as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• High school Chemistry coursework
• General knowledge of chemistry and/or general science Basic mathematical skills
• Production work
• Good organizational skills Good communication skills Problem solving skills
• Ability to mutitask Quick learner
• Work independently
• Work within time constraints
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
• Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement including the ability to read write and speak in English

Additional Information :

Compensation range:  $17 $18 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.

Position is parttime to work 34 days a week Monday thru Friday during the summer months not to exceed 30 hours a week.
