CGI has an immediate need for a IT Operations Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fastpaced team environment supporting one of the largest leaders in the secondary mortgage industry. We take an innovative approach to supporting our client working sidebyside in an agile environment using emerging technologies.
This position is located at a client site in Reston VA or Plano TX. A hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Operations Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide support for complex application and infrastructure tasks incidents changes and requests. This role involves coordinating and managing changes to the production environment with an agile mindset ensuring safety and soundness. Lead the implementation and maintenance of complex IT infrastructure and application projects.
Troubleshoot and resolve advanced system service application and network/connectivity issues.
Provide guidance and training to junior and new team members.
Drive automation initiatives and identify system performance enhancements.
Resolve monitoring and alerting issues including threshold updates and new monitors.
Handle compliance activities including access and password management ensuring adherence to all policies and procedures.
Manage escalated incidents from other tiers or teams quickly triaging and remediating issues to minimize business impact.
Lead critical incident response efforts and perform root cause analysis.
Oversee critical application releases and implementations coordinating interfacing application changes.
Update configurations including testing and peer reviewing.
Create and modify code scripts and monitors to resolve prevent or monitor application incidents.
Provide recommendations on continuous improvement and execute them.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
46 years of relevant experience
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Proficiency in using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
Proven experience with Unix/Linux.
Expert knowledge of AWS cloud platforms (Certification required).
Proficiency in using the AWS console and CLI.
Familiarity with AWS Native Services and Products like S3 EC2 SNS/SQS ECS Admin Console etc.
Advanced scripting and automation skills.
Strong problemsolving abilities.
Experience with system and data analysis using tools like PowerBI and Tableau.
Experience with JBoss/Wildfly Tomcat Apache WebServer.
Linux (SLES 12 and higher) server administration and configurations.
Knowledge of SSL Certificates Puppet automation.
Proficiency in using Office products including Excel Word and Outlook.
Education:
Bachelors or masters degree in computer science or equivalent.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set level experience relevant training and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for meritbased performance CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $59000.00 $130600.00
