Job Description

This position is responsible for visionary leadership and management of a comprehensive Fitness and Wellness program provides expertise and oversight in the development and execution of Fitness and Wellness programs and activities recruits hires trains and supervises Fitness and Wellness student staff to ensure the Fitness and Wellness program is in line with the departments vision mission and goals.

This position may pay more than the salary listed above depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other University Departments and/or assigned committees.

  • Conduct periodic inspections and inventory of all furniture fixtures and equipment.

  • Participate in short and longrange planning for all areas of the department.

  • Recruits hires processes schedules trains and supervises Fitness & Wellness Staff.

  • Managing and monitoring designated fitness area procure the necessary personnel equipment and supplies.

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for fitness and wellness programs.

  • Develop new fitness and wellness programs including a monthly demonstration kitchen presentation and special events.

  • Supervises parttime staffs to include personal trainers cardio & weight room assistants.

  • Assist with coordinating the setup of reservation request and with the fiscal management of operations.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Three years of related experience in fitness programs.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Effective management skills.

  • Ability to instruct fitness courses.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to exert heavy force and lift heavy objects.

Required Registrations Certifications and Licenses:

  • First Aid and CPA certified. Group Exercise Instructor certified.

Special Requirements:

  • Applicants with equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelors degree may be considered. One year of the related experience is the equivalent of one college year. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have four years of related experience to meet the equivalency in lieu of a Bachelors degree plus the minimum required years of experience. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have a total of seven years of experience.
