Job Description
Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast affordable broadband to a wide range of customers including consumers businesses government agencies and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
As an Antenna Engineer you will engage with an experienced crossdisciplinary team to develop and execute tests of Payload phased array antennas and customer terminals using our stateoftheart Spherical NearField (SNF) Planar NF and robotic CATR antenna test systems and build the bones of our Antenna Metrology lab. Not only that: youll design new antenna test systems to dramatically accelerate antenna beam pattern test dynamic beam pointing test and link verification and build the defacto fastest Kaband antenna test system in the world.
About the team
The Kuiper Antenna Test Infrastructure team provides the test systems and techniques to verify Payload CT and full satellite vehicle hardware integrates the test automation and connects the dots between Responsible Engineers and their products test metrics. The team is a pivotal point for a multitude of other teams and orgs our internal customers. An its highly multidisciplinary: SysDE SDE ME Metrology Antenna FPGA and Lab Ops all converge in the same room.
Masters degree in electrical engineering computer engineering or equivalent
Experience in developing functional specifications design verification plans and functional test procedures
5 years of professional noninternship experience EM modeling in 2.5D and 3D EM tools
5 years of experience in RF design and modeling with linear and nonlinear simulation tools
5 years of experience with MATLAB
Professional noninternship experience with design implementation and verification with launched antenna products.
Experience with lab work and RF test equipment
Experience with Automation of Test Equipment
Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
Experience with the project management of technical projects
5 years of antenna design related to 5G/6G technologies WiFi and Bluetooth products experience
Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume
MSc or PhD in EE with RF or antennarelated thesis research
Strong foundations in antennas: Impedance matching theoretical and practical limitations of antennas
Strong foundations in arrays: design calibration system considerations and test.
Excellent mathematical skills
5 years of professional noninternship experience designing Antenna products
3 years of experience with Near Field test and NF2FF transform of antennas and phased arrays (planar spherical or Satimomultiprobe)
2 years of experience programming Automated Test Equipment
Experience with testing of digitally modulated signals
Professional design experience of RF building blocks such as filters hybrids combiners active RF circuits and frontend design

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213600/year in our highest geographic market.
