The Department of Molecular and Cell Biology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Connecticut invites applications for a nontenuretrack faculty position at the Assistant ProfessorinResidence level. This position is based on the Storrs campus. It is a fulltime 9month nontenuretrack position that has the possibility of leading to a multiyear contract. While the position does not require summer teaching it will be possible for the successful applicant to offer additional courses during the summer for additional compensation. This position is suitable for candidates who wish to pursue a career with an emphasis on undergraduate teaching.
The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching a combination of courses in Biochemistry and Microbiology. Other responsibilities will include developing success and retention strategies for biology students advising undergraduate students and service to the Department and/or College as requested. Successful candidates will be expected to promote a sense of community for all students through the incorporation of interactive and inclusive teaching strategies. Use of methods which facilitate participation among members of underrepresented groups and integrate multicultural experiences into instruction and research will be essential.
The Department of Molecular & Cell Biology has a broad and interdisciplinary research program that offers courses at the cutting edge of a wide range of molecular biosciences.

APPOINTMENT TERMS
This position is a fulltime nine (9)month nontenuretrack appointment with an anticipated start date of August 23 2025. The standard teaching load for this position is seven courses per year. This position may be annually renewable based on performance funding and needs of the Department and College. The minimum salary will be $60000 with possible flexibility depending on education and compensation can be earned through summer teaching.
