Job Description

Position: Elementary School Reading SpecialistLocation: Winthrop SchoolDescription:We are seeking a dynamic Elementary School Reading Specialist to provide leadership in literacy instruction support classroom teachers and deliver targeted reading interventions. The Reading Specialist will work closely with staff to implement best practices aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks the science of reading and the Wit & Wisdom Responsibilities:Deliver targeted reading instruction to students (K5) and support intervention with teachers through coaching modeling coteaching and professional literacy initiatives support curriculum development and help analyze assessment data to improve district and school literacy goals including MCAS preparation and family literacy :Masters Degree and valid MA DESE Licensure (Elementary 16 and Reading Specialist All Levels).Minimum of five years of elementary teaching knowledge of researchbased literacy practices Wit & Wisdom curriculum and assessment communication collaboration and organizational :10month 1.0 FTE position under the teachers contract.
