Application Manager (m/w/d)

Join Givaudan as an Application Manager in DortmundGermany where you can make a meaningful impact by creating innovation and excellence in the food industry creating flavors that delight consumers around the world.

You will report directly to our Technical Manager Germany.

Your main responsibilities:

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Application Manager to lead our application team in driving solutions and delivering application support across diverse food segments.

Team Management and Development

  • Lead and mentor a diverse technical team of 810 members across multiple segments including beverage dairy sweet goods and savoury.
  • Allocate resources and guide the team in prioritizing tasks to meet project goals.
  • Foster a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Contribute to and build the longterm strategy for the local application teams development.

Lab Management

  • Oversee the management of lab facilities and equipment for the application team.
  • Lead the process for acquiring new equipment and managing renovations within the laboratories.
  • Serve as the primary contact for Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) matter related to lab operations.

Customer Focus & Strategic Mindset

  • Prepare and facilitate segment meetings to ensure alignment among commercial teams.
  • Analyze and present key performance indicators (KPIs) to management.
  • Be the main technical liaison for selected key accounts building customer relationships through visits and product presentations.
  • Provide expert technical advice to marketing sales flavour creation application sensory and customers across multiple applications.
  • Guide the local application team in developing our longterm roadmap.

Your academic profile includes:

  • Polytechnic or Bachelors Degree: minimum 8 years of experience in a food applications lab flavorist lab production or related area preferred.
  • M.S.: minimum 7 years of experience in a food applications lab flavourist lab production or related area preferred.
  • Ph.D.: minimum 4 years of experience in a food applications lab flavourist lab production or related area preferred
  • Experience managing all levels of the technical teams providing guidance for their knowledge and technical skill development.

Your technical profile includes:

  • Leadership & Team Management: skills in developing talent and fostering teams
  • Industry Experience: Relevant experience in the food and beverage sector with strong market knowledge.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent at building customer relationships and collaborating with teams.
  • Project Management: Experienced in aligning projects with organizational goals.
  • Coordination & Stakeholder Management
  • ProblemSolving: Strong abilities in navigating challenges and driving progress.
  • Food Industry Knowledge: Indepth understanding of food applications and trends.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in KPI analysis for informed decisionmaking.
  • Language: English knowledge German language highly preferable
