The Position
ElectricianJob Summary
The jobholders objectives are to install maintain troubleshoot and repair the electrical and controls equipment in the plant.
The jobholder is responsible for accomplishing the preventive predictive and repair maintenance tasks in the plant.
Key Tasks:
Perform equipment inspections maintenance tasks and assigned project work.
Troubleshoot equipment controls and wiring to detect malfunctions and discuss machine operations with production and maintenance personnel to diagnose problems.
Dismantle defective equipment repairs or install parts to bring the equipment back into service.
Install maintain and test LV/MV electrical equipment to include:
AC/DC Motors and Motor Controls
Switchgear Transformers and Load Break Switch Distribution Equipment
Fuses Power Circuit Breakers Load Centers and Breaker Panels
Wiring Terminations and Grounding Systems
Install maintain and test control and instrumentation equipment to include:
Plant PLC Hardware (analog & digital I/O wiring power supplies)
Controllers Relays HMI Panels Communication Modules and related wiring
Instrumentation and Sensors (Pressure Temp Level Gas Analysis Weight Flow)
Control Valves Actuators and Limit Switches
Read electrical diagrams and manuals required to install and troubleshoot equipment.
Set up and operate shop and portable tools to accomplish tasks.
Install test and maintain motors and gear boxes as well as perform coupling alignments.
Use range of electrical test instruments.
Support the effort to maximize equipment availability to Operations.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to climb and work from ladders
Ability to climb 5 flights of stairs
Ability to lift overhead and work
Ability to stand for 30 45 minutes at a time
Skill requirements:
Licensed journeyman electrician with working knowledge of the NEC.
Experience with electrical and controls maintenance in heavy industrial facility.
Ability to use mobile equipment including fork lift JLG and scissor lifts.
Mechanical skills involving knowledge of pneumatics hydraulics gear drives and welding/burning considered a plus.
