$1213 per 1 credit with upward adjustment for years of service at Marist University. Pay may vary depending on credits pertaining to online graduate music or lab courses.

Job Summary:

The Department of Chemistry Biochemistry & Physics at Marist University invites applications for parttime faculty to teach General Chemistry Organic Chemistry and/or Physics I Laboratory in Fall 2025. Opportunities are available for both lecture and laboratory courses with all instruction conducted in person.
We are especially seeking instructors with availability to teach lab sections during the following times:

• Chemistry Labs:
  • Mondays 8:0011:00 a.m.
  • Tuesdays 8:0011:00 a.m.
  • Fridays 2:004:45 p.m.
• Physics I Lab:
  • Thursdays 2:004:45 p.m.
• An additional Tuesday afternoon lab (2:004:45 p.m.) may be offered depending on enrollment.
• Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and additional teaching opportunities may become available in future semesters.

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters degree in Chemistry or Physics.

Essential Functions:

• Delivering inperson lectures or guiding students through laboratory experiments
• Explaining key concepts clearly and effectively
• Assessing student performance and grading assignments
• Maintaining timely communication with students
• Managing course materials and grades using Brightspace our learning management system
• Guiding students through lab experiments and reinforcing core physics concepts
• Grading lab reports and assignments
• Maintaining effective and timely communication with students
• Posting lab materials grades and announcements on Brightspace (our learning management system)
