Job Description
Responsibilities: Provide support to management of the Zoos Food Service Department primarily at Safari Grill Tundra Treats Rays Snack Shack and Discovery Dots. Maintain high levels of employee productivity while cultivating a positive work environment. Ensure that staff follow proper procedures including but not limited to cleanliness cash handling guest interaction and food handling. Work with managers to stock and maintain supplies to meet daily sales projections. Relieve staff in assigned areas for breaks. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and food handling procedures to meet all state and local health and safety guidelines while ensuring production and quality are high quality. Assist in training and development of subordinates. Ensure all Zoo policies are being followed. Other duties may include but are not limited to working a cash register taking orders expediting orders food and beverage production (outdoor grilled foods snack foods Dippin Dots Dole Whip etc.) washing dishes guest interactions opening and closing of assigned areas and other tasks that a manager may assign.
Qualifications: Prior food service supervisory experience with customer service and register handling is required. Must be able to take direction from management and also be able to work independently when applicable. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule; hours will include weekdays weekends holidays and some evenings. Must have the physical ability to work on your feet walk the Zoo grounds and work outdoors for the duration of a shift. All successful candidates for this position will be required to submit a criminal background check.
