Job Description
Horticulture InstructorPosition:Instructor of Horticulture with responsibility for developing coordinating delivering and supervising technical and related theory learning experiences for students pursuing a career in the horticulture industry. Instruction will be in accordance with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Educations Vocational Technical Education Framework for Horticulture. Additional responsibilities as needed including but not limited to updating curriculum. Classes are to be taught to students in grades 912 in a regional vocational technical high :Bachelors degree or higher degree related to subject matter and skills to be taught. (This would include at least 30 credits in subject matter related to horticulture.)At least three years of fulltime employment experience directly related to the field of horticulture. (Note: a masters degree may substitute for one of the three years of required employment experience provided that the degree includes subject matter directly related to horticulture and/or in vocational education.)Possession of a current Massachusetts Pesticide Applicator licenseMust have excellent communication skills both written and oralCompetency in computer applications such as Google or Microsoft operating systemsCandidate must be willing to pursue licensure according to the requirements of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) within a prescribed time period OR possess a valid and appropriate DESE : The salary will be in accordance with the provisions of the approved Pathfinder Regional Vocational Technical High School salary Type: FullTime School YearEffective Date of Position: August 2025 An Equal Opportunity EmployerIt is the policy of the Pathfinder Regional Vocational Technical High School District not to discriminate on the basis of race color sex religion national origin gender identity sexual orientation homelessness or disability in its educational policies as required by Title VI Title IX Section 504 and Chapter 622.
