The Opportunity:

The Instructor of EmploymentRelated Language Training andSpecialist is responsible for delivering customized language instructionfocused on enhancing participants employment readiness and supporting them innavigating the Canadian labor market. This dualrole position combines teachingemploymentfocused English language skills with providing individualizedemployment support including job search strategies resume development andemployer engagement.

The key areas of responsibility are:

Language Instruction:

Plandesign and deliver employmentfocused language training to learnersincorporating industryspecific terminology and workplace communication skills.

Developlesson plans and teaching materials tailored to the needs of adult learnersparticularly those seeking employment.

Incorporaterealworld workplace scenarios including interviews email correspondence andpresentations into language training.

Assess andmonitor learners progress providing constructive feedback to help themachieve their goals.

Maintainaccurate records of attendance assessments and progress reports.

Employment Support:

Conductneeds assessments to identify participants career goals and barriers toemployment.

Provideoneonone support for resume and cover letter development interviewpreparation and job search strategies.

Facilitateworkshops on topics such as workplace culture networking and soft skills.

Establishand maintain relationships with local employers to identify job opportunitiesand create partnerships for work placements or mentorships.

Supportparticipants in navigating employment resources and accessing relevantcommunity services.

Program Development and Administration:

Collaboratewith the program team to align curriculum and employment support services withparticipants needs.

Researchlabor market trends and integrate findings into programming.

Participatein program evaluations and make recommendations for improvement.

Maintaincompliance with funding requirements and organizational policies.

Qualified candidates will possess:

Bachelorsdegree in Education ESL or Career Development

Minimum of2 years of experience teaching adult learners preferably in employmentrelatedlanguage training.

Experiencein employment counseling career development or a related field.

Must havea working knowledge of immigrant services available in BC.

A Criminal Record Check is a requirement of employment.
