JOB DESCRIPTION:
- We are looking for a professional and highly motivated speechlanguage pathology assistant who can communicate clearly accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of speechlanguage therapy services in the publicschool setting and Medicaid billing. We value individuals who are willing to put in the time energy and effort needed to achieve the best results in their work and we are looking for an individual who will work well with a variety of people.
JOB GOAL:
- Provide comprehensive Speech Language Therapy services under the supervision of a speechlanguage pathologist with their clinical competency certificate from ASHA in a school setting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications to perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skills and/or abilities required to be successful:
- Valid SpeechLanguage Pathology Assistant license issued by the Arizona Department of Health Services
- SLPA certificate/associate or bachelors degree; bachelors degree Preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively (orally and in writing).
- Ability to work cooperatively problem solve and effectively carryout therapy under the supervision of an ASHA certified speechlanguage pathologist

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Responsibilities under the direction of the SpeechLanguage Pathologist; CCCSLP and in collaboration with the IEP team:
- Responsibilities:
- Assist the speechlanguage pathologist in providing speechlanguage therapy to students with speechlanguage disorders.
- Medicaid billing documentation.
- Progress reporting quarterly.
- Screening of students when needed.
- Program Planning and Implementation of Interventions:
- Contributes to the IEP process and assists the speechlanguage pathologist ./MS. CCCSLP in writing goals and objectives related to specially designed instruction and speechlanguage needs.
- Follows goals set by the speechlanguage pathologist ./MS. CCCSLP.
- Implements intervention plans written by the speechlanguage pathologist ./MS. CCCSLP directly or in collaboration with others.
- Monitors students progress and suggests modified plans if necessary.
- Communicates and collaborates with other educational team members.
- Caseload may vary from year to year semester to semester.
- Documentation of Services:
- Maintains records required by the school and for MIPS billing.
- Updates at least annually IEP goals and objectives and the students status (under the supervision of the speechlanguage pathologist ./MS. CCCSLP
- Maintains the speechlanguage pathology assistant therapy notes.
- Supports SLP in completing the quarterly progress reports.
- Caseload may be distributed throughout the district depending on needs
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Certified Professional Support calendar plus additional days
- Placement on CertifiedProfessional Support salary schedule dependent upon education and experience.

- Must pass Department of Public Safety Fingerprint clearance check.
- Must be United States citizen or have valid work visa at date of hire with the ability to maintain. All changes in visa status must be reported to Human Resources immediately. Photo identification and work visa (if necessary) will be needed for fingerprint clearance card and I9 documentation prior to the first day of work.
EVALUATION:
- Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Boards policy on the Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
- Supervised by the school administrator or the appointed supervisor.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION:
- Proof of Mumps Measles and Rubella (MMR) vaccination.
- Valid government issued identification or current work visa with expiration date.
- Unofficial copies of transcripts will be accepted with applications official transcripts will be due upon job offer*
* Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation (word for word) by an acceptable translator. Additionally each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework by an acceptable agency such as those agencies certified by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Applications containing foreign transcripts that are not accompanied by the above required documentation will not be considered.
