Job Description
Wonderful College Prep Academy is accepting applications for a parttime Tutor position in the GEAR UP program stationed at Sanger West High School. GEAR UP Tutors will follow the student cohorts through their high school years. Assignments will be approximately 28 hours per week during lunch periods and/or during class times (mornings and/or afternoons). Workdays will align with the Sanger Unified School District and WCPA calendars. This position will report to the GEAR UP Manager at Sanger West High School. This is an inperson position.
Availability is preferred for the following schedule:
Summer School: June 11 2025 July 9 2025
Hours: Monday Thursday 8:00am 1:00pm (20 hours/week)
Academic Year for 2526 starting August 11 2025
Monday Thursday 8:00am 4:30pm with 30minute lunch (28 hours/week)
The Tutors responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with and provide support for teachers instructional assistants and administrators at school sites.
- Work directly with students to provide various academic support services (i.e. tutoring assisting with the completion of forms assisting with workshops).
- Assist in the planning organization and implementation of GEAR UP grant activities.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- College graduate or be enrolled in college and have completed freshman English college math (Algebra II).
- At least one year of tutoring experience.
- An eager flexible learner and problem solver who feels comfortable taking initiative.
- A selfstarter with exceptional work ethic and the ability to work well away from colleagues and management.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- An ability to quickly establish rapport and communicate well with scholars.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Pay Range: $18.00/hour.
