The College of Arts Media and Design at Northeastern University is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to support internally funded grant development and application activities connected to machinelearningdriven approaches to lowcost lowcarbon structural design.

The College of Arts Media and Design is a collaborative diverse community acting as a catalyst for research inspiration and discovery across the University. It brings together a unique combination of disciplines including Architecture Art Design Communication Studies Journalism Media and Screen Studies Music and Theatre and is home to three interdisciplinary research centers: the Center for the Arts the Center for Design and the Center for Communication Media Innovation and Social Change. Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of preparing research publications and preparing grant applications through previous experience; ability to write papers for peerreview on technical topics related to architectural design and machine learning and conduct grant research; as normally acquired through a PhD in structural engineering or architecture with a focus in computation.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

(40%) Work with supervisor to develop a research topic and write a paper for conference or journal publication.

(40%) Work with supervisor to identify grant funders and conduct and organize preliminary research to support grant application(s).

(20%) Participate in weekly meetings with the supervisor and other team members.
