You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThis position is critical in fulfilling the Culinary Services Departments mission: To make a difference in the lives of those we serve every day through exceptional customer service and outstanding food. The primary responsibility is ensuring the cleanliness and sanitization of dishes pots pans utensils and equipment through manual and machine cleaning methods. The position also includes additional duties to support departmental goals.
Schedule: 1:30 PM 10:00 PM. Rotating weekends.
Washes stores and maintains an adequate supply of serviceware (e.g. dishes pots pans and utility carts) for food preparation and service.
Retrieves soiled dishware and trays from patient areas and returns them to the dish room for cleaning.
According to policy scrapes washes rinses and sanitizes dishes pots pans silverware and other wares to ensure complete cleanliness and sanitation.
Organizes and stores cleaned dishes pots pans silverware and other wares according to policy.
Maintains adequate clean trays dishes silverware and other serviceware in the cafeteria during meal times.
Document warewashing equipment temperatures and sanitizer levels according to policy.
Sets up cleans and maintains food service equipment according to department policy and procedure.
Sets up equipment in a safe and sanitary manner. Utilizes appropriate cleaning tools chemicals equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) according to policy.
Report equipment breakdowns or damage promptly.
Maintains cleanliness of dining room tables chairs high chairs and floors. Completes daily tasks as assigned.
Collects removes and transports trash and cardboard promptly. Cleans and sanitizes all trash receptacles.
Sweeps and mops as needed or according to schedules to maintain clean and safe floor surfaces. Cleans spills promptly and utilizes wet floor signs when mopping.
Delivers and picks up catering orders as needed. Cleans up after catering events as directed.
Cleans counters and microwaves in the vending area at Starbucks. Sweeps and mops the floor in the vending area as needed.
Provides prompt and courteous customer service to internal and external customers. Greets each customer in a friendly and polite manner. Adheres to the departments dress code. Utilizes service recovery techniques as needed and informs the supervisor.
Performs other related duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the department.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Performs additional duties within the scope of the position as assigned.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Six months of food service experience or commercial dishwashing experience preferred.
ServSafe Food Handler Training Certificate Program or another American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited Food Handler Training Certificate Program is required within thirty (30) days of hire. Employees must maintain current certification during employment.

Frequently required to walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

Specific vision abilities required include close vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat.
Noise levels in the work environment are usually moderate.
Move about the workspace to access work surfaces shelves cabinets drawers and equipment at above or below the work surface.
All applicable federal state and local safety and health regulations must be complied with.

Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets experience and training licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
