The Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the nontenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of weight and eating disorders. Applicants must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D degree.
Teaching responsibilities may include didactics for psychology interns practicum students or postdoctoral fellows individual clinical supervision of trainees and in vivo supervision of students in bariatric surgery behavioral assessments. Seminars for medical students and residents on eating disorders may also be required.
Clinical responsibilities may include providing evidencebased therapy for obesity and disordered eating and bariatric surgery psychological evaluations. Psychosocial assessment batteries and weight management interventions for clinical research trials may also be included.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include securing grant funding for independent or collaborative research projects and publishing researchbased manuscripts. Successful candidates will have a record of publication and extramural funding indicating the candidates ability to support a collaborative research program.
Quantitative services such as biostatistical support for clinical research protocols may also be required.
