The Security Officer is the primary responders for all safety concerns security incidents and service request at facilities owned or occupied by Seattle Childrens in the departments efforts to deter detect prevent respond and document concerns or incidents that risk the safety and wellbeing of patients families visitors workforce members and property by utilizing appropriate protocols emergency response procedures and/or nonviolent
crisis intervention methods.
All shifts full time parttime oncall and locations
Required Education and Experience Vary for level of Security Role
Level I high school or equivalent experience Level II Associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field or a combination of 3 years related experience in Security Services or related field
Required Credentials Vary for level of Security Role
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days of hire
CPI NonViolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Certification within 90 days of hire (Annual Requirement)
Completion of NCI Autism Training within 12 months of hire
Completion of Seattle Childrens Safe Firearms Training within 12 months of hire
Safety Cares Certification within 90 days of hire if required for location (Annual Requirement)
Completion of Car Seat Safety Training within 12 months of hire if required for position/role
Score of 80% or above on Seattle Childrens Security Competency Exam in assigned area of the Security Department (Service Call Emergency Department Entrance Surge and Research) within 12 months.
Preferred
Valid Washington State Drivers License with a driving record acceptable to Risk Management
Completion of Wheelchair vehicle Training
International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Certification
Compensation Range
$21.10 $42.66 per hourSalary Information
This compensation range was calculated based on fulltime employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity skills experience and expertise and may vary within the range provided.
