Have you ever seen these warning labels on popular and seemingly innocent products such as fidget spinners or food containers As the Buyer Safety Experience team for we aim to raise the bar when it comes to educating and empowering consumers about product safety. Our team is responsible for the complete endtoend safety experience for buyers from the warnings you see on the product detail pages (and how to turn them into useful actionable information) to making safer product recommendations targeted to each individual consumers needs to informing consumers of recalled products and preventing them from being delivered to their doorstep.
As a member of this growing team youll be able to build the groundwork and influence its direction for the years to come. Our work cuts across various disciplines from delivering an awesome user experience via great UI/UX to building massively scalable backend systems to support the most hightraffic pages on to analytical and feedback systems which give us datadriven customer insights to using machine learning to influence recommendations and marketing. Key job responsibilities
In this role you will:
Help define the system architecture own and implement specific components and help shape the overall experience
Collaborate closely with product managers UX designers and other SDE team members to help define the scope of the product
Take responsibility for technical problem solving creatively meeting product objectives and developing best practices
Demonstrate crossfunctional resource interaction to accomplish your goals
Write highquality efficient testable code in Java and other objectoriented languages
Design Amazonscale tools to facilitate internal business
Build highly available secure and lowlatency systems
Mentor other developers
Find out what it takes to engineer systems for Amazon Scale
Design and build microservices
Own and operate the systems that you build based on realtime customer data and demanding servicelevel agreements
Contribute to planning design implementation testing operations and process improvement

The Buyer Safety Experience (BSX) team focuses on ensuring a safe compliant informed and sustainable shopping experience for all customers worldwide. Our mission is to surface critical safety information clearly and proactively whether its product warnings recall notifications or guidance on hazardous materials. We aim to build scalable solutions that address global safety standards while catering to local regulations and marketplace needs. Our goal is to empower customers with the information they need to make safe and confident purchasing decisions at every stage regardless of their location or the product category. We prioritize customer safety at every step creating an experience that leads the industry in protecting and informing our buyers.
3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
