As Head of Steel Design you will report directly to the Head of Design and Engineering and lead our steel engineering department. Your responsibilities include:
- Managing and developing a team of structural and steel design engineers (disciplinary and technical leadership).
- Responsible for the design calculation and detailing of steel structures for offshore converter platforms in all project phases.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant rules codes standards and offshore safety regulations (e.g. DNV Eurocode ISO).
- Interfacing with other disciplines (e.g. electrical mechanical layout project management) as well as with external stakeholders and certifiers.
- Monitoring and securing progress and quality of engineering deliverables ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgets.
- Driving technical innovation process improvements and standardization within the steel design team.
We are looking for a committed leader with strong technical and interpersonal skills. You should bring:
- A university degree in structural engineering mechanical engineering naval architecture or a related discipline.
- Several years of professional experience in steel structure design within the offshore maritime or energy infrastructure sector ideally with HVDC platforms or offshore substations.
- Proven leadership experience including team management and mentoring in an engineering environment.
- Indepth knowledge of structural analysis offshore standards and steel fabrication requirements.
- Fluent German and English skills both written and spoken are mandatory.
A structured solutionoriented mindset strong communication skills and the ability to lead crossfunctional teams in a dynamic project environment.
