Job Description

POSITION: Secretary (ESS)

DEPARTMENT: ESS

LOCATION: Casa Grande Union High School District

REPORTS TO: Site Principal or designee

JOB GOAL:

  • To assist the ESS Director in maintaining procedural compliance with IDEA regulations. Performs specialized clerical and public relations tasks resolved around special education issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualificationsto perform this job successfullyan individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skills and/or abilities required to be successful:

  • High School Diploma or GED(Preferred)
  • Two years clerical office or relatedexperience(Preferred)
  • Good computer and word processingskills(Preferred)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues
  • Associates degree (A. A.) or equivalent from twoyear college or technicalschool(Preferred)
  • Familiar with FERPA (Family Educational Rights to Privacy Act)requirements(Preferred)
  • Knowledge of IDEA regulations and familiar withrequiredIEP and METcomponents(Preferred)
  • Solid organizational skills.
  • Strong Customer Service skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • IVP Fingerprint Clearance card is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following:

  • Enter all new and returning students into PowerSchool and to State reporting system
  • Submit and track all private day school students
  • Inputs ADE voucher student information into SAIS and PowerSchool
  • Prepare and distribute home school letters
  • Prepare and submit annual public notification
  • Works with registrars to monitor daily drop lists
  • Provide district teachers/psychologist with a monthly list of IEP and MET due dates
  • Provide monthly student counts to ESS Director
  • Assists in gathering State end of the year data collection information
  • Submit finalize and print AIMSA reports
  • Assist with ordering supplies for schools during July
  • Maintains calendar of meetings for the Director
  • Perform general clerical duties as requested
  • Exhibits patience courtesy and tact when dealing with others
  • Answer phone when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • 10month contract Hourly/NonExempt position under FLSA. Placement on Classified salary schedule by the Director of Human Resources dependent upon education and experience
  • Benefits All approved benefits for Classified Employees
  • IVP Fingerprint Clearance card is required.

EVALUATION:

  • Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on Evaluation of ClassifiedPersonnel.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION:

  • Proof of Mumps Measles and Rubella (MMR) vaccination.
  • Valid government issued identificationor current work visa with expiration date.
  • Unofficial copies of transcripts will be accepted with applicationsofficial transcripts will be due upon job offer*

*Transcriptsissuedin alanguageotherthan Englishmustbeaccompaniedby a fulltranslation (wordforword)byanacceptable translator. Additionallyeachforeigntranscriptmustbeevaluated forequivalencyto United Statesaccreditedcourseworkbyanacceptableagencysuchasthoseagenciescertifiedbythe National Associationof Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).Applicationscontaining foreign transcripts thatare notaccompaniedwith theabove required documentationwill notbeconsidered.
