The Dracut Public Schools is seeking a Vice Principal for Dracut High School. RESPONSIBILITIES:*Assists the principal in the overall administration of the building.*Serves as a principal in the absence of the regular principal.*Assists the principal in maintaining discipline throughout the student body keeping appropriate records of disciplinary infractions and actions and filing appropriate reports as required by the Massachusetts and U.S. Department of Education.*Supervises the preparation of student schedules teacher course schedules teacher duty schedules testing schedules (including MCAS) and extracurricular activities.*Under the direction of the principal works with coordinators and faculty to compile annual budget requests.*Assists in the preparation of faculty and student handbooks as well as teacher orientation handbook and teachers school year opening packet.*Supports the principal in overseeing all safety inspections and safety drill practice activities and assists the principal in addressing issues in safety reports.*Supports the principal in coordinating transportation maintenance custodial cafeteria and support services.*Serves the parent faculty and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives.*Under the direction and assignment of the principal supervises and evaluates teachers and support personnel.*Assists the principal and other faculty and advisors in organizing administering and chaperoning school programs such as Open House ParentTeacher Organization presentations Orientations Programs and other programs.*Assists the principal in chaperoning school extracurricular functions such as class or club dances music concerts theatrical presentations and other events.*Provides timely written schoolhome communication in student matters and student restitution for lost books or equipment.*Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the principal may TO: Building PrincipalTERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 205 days between July 1 and June 30. This work year will include all the calendar days that teachers are required to work along with 5 days before the first day of school and 5 days after the last day of school. With approval from the building principal the association member may shift any or all of those days to other days of the work year. Scheduling of the remaining 13 work days shall be negotiated between the building principal and the association : Salary and benefits as determined by the Administrators Contract EVALUATION: Annually by the Building Principal
