Job Description

The automotive markets Holman serves include fleet management and leasing; vehicle fabrication and upfitting; component manufacturing and productivity solutions; powertrain distribution and logistics services; commercial and personal insurance and risk management; and retail automotive sales as one of the largest privately owned dealership groups in the United States.

Holman is now accepting applications for a Design Analyst to help support our Supply Chain team.

Principal Purpose of Position:

  • Develop complete accurate and uptodate specifications for upfit to best meet the clients business application(s) and needs.
  • Review and monitor specifications for compliance with current OEM applications processing standards supply chain strategy as well as fitment and compatibility between selected components. Document and communicate resulting changes.
  • Maintain technical working knowledge of chassis availability specifications and model year changes.
  • Serves as a single point of contact and resolution for all vehicle Design related questions
  • Provides timely and accurate quotes aligned with the expectations established meeting SLAs where applicable.
  • Offer alternative options based on OEM and supplier limitations as well as utilizing Holman preferred vendor partners
  • Research and make recommendations to drive savings safety improvements improved client work applications or other benefits to customer specifications.
  • Complete price quotations on vehicle upfit
  • Maintain knowledge of vendor capabilities features lead times and alternative suppliers Collaborate with Regional Engineering Manager (REM) to support sales efforts by participating in client/product/upfit reviews when necessary.
  • Communicate regularly with sales customers engineering suppliers operations scheduling and other departments and stakeholders to understand clients needs expectations and ensure operational efficiency
  • Understand clients use and application of vehicle and components.
  • Finalize orderable and complete quotes to flow seamlessly through the ordering process
  • Attend informational sessions and training with OEM partners and upfitters to stay on top of industry trends technology and products
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education and/or Training:

  • A bachelors degree in relevant fields (including but not limited to engineering automotive mathematical) or equivalent experience in commercial truck or upfitting industries.
  • ASE training considered a plus
  • Strong computer skills. Experience with MS Office software. Additional experience with ERP MRP or BOM management systems a plus.

Relevant Work Experience:

  • 6 years of experience in an automotive or manufacturing environment
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
  • Experience with managing multiple projects at same time

Planning/Organizing/Managerial Knowledge:

  • Well versed in all type of commercial vehicles and upfits cabchassis SUV pickups vans electric vehicles etc.
  • Familiar with all types of commercial upfits bodies cranes hydraulics van equipment lighting etc.
  • Knowledge of design trends and market application (energy pest control telecommunications etc.)
  • Knowledge of OEM facilities transportation systems and limitations.

Communicating & Influencing Skills:

  • Willingness to work cooperatively with others and treat fellow employees with respect
  • Actionoriented with the drive to take initiative and accountability for decisionmaking
  • Regular communication with sales customers engineering suppliers operations and other vested departments to understand clients needs and expectations.
  • Ability to run a complete RFP comparing multiple OEMs and aligning upfit accordingly
    • For upfit needs outside of Auto Truck capabilities ability to coordinate and competitively quote multiple vendors
  • Ability to provide analysis and make recommendations for chassis and upfit solutions including but not limited to: preorder planning production capabilities/scheduling chassis routing etc.
  • Ability to work with preferred MD/HD and Equipment partners to develop specs and make recommendations

Pay:

We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with jobrelated skills experience relevant education or training and geographic location starting in the range of $56400.00 $81775.00 USD annually for full time employees. The annual compensation range is comprised of base pay earnings.
