KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Interacts with outside contractors and vendors as required.
  • Demonstrates full understanding of standard operating procedures as well as the organizations policies procedures and practices.
  • Shows initiative in solving problems while showing leadership as necessary.
  • Displays good judgement and an ability to make decisions that are in the best interest of the organization and its guests.
  • Performs with an overall understanding of the mission and operation of the organization and the critical role Facilities plays in this environment.
  • Selfstarter that works well in a collaborative/team setting.
  • Effective in completing work timely accurately and efficiently.
  • Must be willing to work nights weekends and holidays as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • Five (5) years experience in specific skill area or two (2) years of experience and education certification from an accredited institution.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required however not exhaustive of all duties.

  • Plumbing Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of plumbing systems including water pipes drains valves and faucets to identify and prevent leaks or blockages.
  • Electrical Perform regular inspections of electrical panels circuits wiring and connections to identify and correct faults before they result in downtime or safety hazards.
  • HVAC Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) units including air handlers VAVs and FCUs.
  • Central Plant Troubleshooting chillers pumps heat exchangers and VFD controls
  • Working knowledge of Hobart and Singer commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Safety Must have a basic understanding and experience with all associated regulatory safety requirements including but not limited to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Lock Out Tag Out Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Arc Flash and Hazardous Communications.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop kneel crouch or crawl; and

talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

CERTIFICATIONS LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Virginia drivers license and Virginia Lottery Gaming License.
  • Must possess within 30 days of starting the position and maintain in good standing one of these licenses;
    • Universal EPA Refrigerant Handling License
    • Journeyman Electrical License
    • Journeyman Plumbing License
    • Pool Chemical/Water Treatment Certification
    • Boiler Operators License
    • Osha 10 Certification
