Position OverviewThe
Steward (Dishwasher) plays a vital support role on the kitchen team by ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes utensils cooking equipment and kitchen areas. This role helps maintain a clean and organized backofhouse environment and contributes to a safe and efficient culinary operation.
Principal (Essential) Duties- Ensures all dishes are properly prepared sanitized and placed in the correct location.
- Scrapes rinses and loads dishes utensils and cookware into dishwashing machines.
- Handwashed large pots pans and specialty kitchen equipment as needed.
- Properly unloaded and organizes clean items into designated storage areas.
- Maintains cleanliness of the dishwashing station and surrounding areas.
- Emptiestrash cans and clean receptacles; reline cans as necessary.
- Sweeps mops and pressure washes floors to maintain a sanitary kitchen environment.
- Follows all sanitation and safety procedures in compliance with health regulations.
- Assists with receiving and storing kitchen supplies when needed.
- Communicates breakage or equipment issues to supervisor promptly.
- Supports culinary team with other cleaning or prep duties as assigned.
- Enforces strict health and hygiene standards in assigned station; maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and club requirements.
- Attends daily briefings meetings and trainings as required.
- Reports to work at the scheduled time neatly groomed and in the correct uniform.
- Makes sure the kitchen is properly closed and complete the closing tasks check out with Sous Chef/Executive Chef before leaving.
Qualifications & Experience
- Prior experience in a highend or fastpaced kitchen environment preferred.
- Understanding of sanitation and food safety standards (training can be provided).
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to satisfactorily communicate in jobrelated English.
- Ability to work varied shifts and flexible schedule.
- Ability to work varied shift and flexible schedule in a hot humid and nosey environment.
