Software Development Engineer -II, Amazon - Ads Sales Tech

The Amazon Advertising business is growing at a fast pace and this teams mission is to apply technology to accelerate that growth through bestinclass software engineering data engineering and business intelligence. We are part of the Sales Technology team within Global Sales Operations team is to deliver bestinclass products and data solutions to improve Amazon Advertising Sales team effectiveness worldwide. We are building sales enablement products for Amazon Advertising front line sales team. We want to ensure that the sales team has all the information about the customer and their potential to upsell at their fingertips and they are not wasting time in inefficiencies. The team is looking for motivated thoughtful selfstarters who can contribute right away to the design and development of these new products and who can partner closely with Sales teams to deliver products that truly move the needle for innovation.

A qualified candidate for this role enjoys working with end users developing customerfocused UX workflows and web services and solving business problems with extensible software on this team can turn large data sets and disparate systems into actionable insightdriven products that can help Sales teams serve some of the worlds best known brands as well as small businesses selling products on Amazon. In this role you will

A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience;
5 years of Software Development experience;
Experience designing highly interactive web applications with performance scalability accessibility usability design and security in mind. If you dont have all of these thats ok but be excited about learning the few you dont know.
Familiar with building complex web applications using Javascript / AJAX XHTML CSS and knowledge of jQuery Java Struts and other website technologies.
Experience designing Android Applications
Strong objectoriented design and coding skills (C/C and/or Java preferably on a UNIX or Linux platform)
Solid software development background including design patterns data structures test driven development
Knowledge of scripting languages a plus
Experience with distributed (multitiered) systems algorithms and databases
Software development experience in building highly scalable applications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

5 years of noninternship professional software development experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
5 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

5 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
