We are currently hiring a Field Adjuster to join our Claims team based in Victoria and Nanaimo BC!
As a Field Adjuster you will operate within Claims Performance Standards to Property and Casualty Insurance Claims (homeowners recreational vehicle travel accident benefits) requiring field investigation and determines if coverage is available for a loss within the insuring agreement and then proceeds to settle or deny the claim.

What a typical day looks like
Advises insured of the rights and obligations in accordance with the policy and the appropriate Insurance Act
Investigates the claim in order to determine if the policy will respond to the loss and investigates the legitimacy of the claim.
Interviews and/or takes statements from policyholders claimants and witnesses.
Reviews information including but not limited to estimates photos and/or videos of property damage proof of ownership hospital records and other pertinent information to fully substantiate the claim.
Maintains updated current and organized claims files in accordance with Claims Performance Standards.
Negotiates a fair and costeffective settlement with the insureds claimants or claimants legal representative either directly or through the services of retained counsel.
Validates information including but not limited to invoices and receipts.
Processes payments in accordance with BCAA best practices.
Arranges disposal of salvage arising from settled claims in accordance with departmental standards.
What you bring
Postsecondary diploma in business or related courses programs licenses (insurance related) and/or equivalent work experience
5 to 8 years in a claims environment
Valid BC Drivers License with a clean driving record
Bonus Qualifications:
CIP designation

The salary range for this position is $73167.96to $91460.04and is determined viajobrelated knowledge skills experience certifications market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 9% with the opportunity to earn up to 15%.
