Key job responsibilities
We are seeking an innovative and technically strong software development engineer to join our team building advanced generative AI solutions. In this role youll architect and lead the development of nextgeneration AIpowered applications that transform customer experiences across our product portfolio. Youll collaborate with worldclass engineers and AI/ML scientists to solve complex technical challenges establish best practices for AI system design and mentor junior engineers while driving technical excellence. * Lead the technical design and architecture of complex software systems that leverage generative AI technologies. Drive the development of scalable resilient and highperformance services that power advanced AI applications.
* Collaborate with AI/ML scientists to translate research innovations into productionready software solutions.
* Establish engineering standards for system performance reliability and responsible AI implementation. Provide technical leadership in designing and implementing robust testing evaluation and monitoring frameworks for AI applications.
* Lead technical deepdives to resolve complex issues in systems including model performance latency optimization and scalability challenges. Identify opportunities for innovation and technical improvement within our software stack.
* Drive crossteam collaborations to integrate generative AI capabilities across Amazons product ecosystem. Represent the team in crossorganizational technical discussions and planning sessions.
* Balance technical tradeoffs and business requirements when implementing solutions.
* Develop strategies for responsible AI deployment including appropriate safeguards monitoring systems and mitigation approaches.
* Mentor junior engineers on software development best practices and technical implementation strategies. Contribute to hiring and growing engineering talent within the organization.



A day in the life
As an SDE at Amazon FinTech you will balance technical leadership responsibilities with handson development work. You will guide your team through technical challenges by providing architecture direction and helping unblock junior engineers facing complex problems. You will drive architectural decisions for new features weighing tradeoffs between performance scalability and implementation complexity. While designing highlevel system components you will dive deep into code implementing critical functionality and reviewing team members contributions with detailed educational feedback that elevates overall code quality. Your technical leadership will extend beyond your immediate team as you collaborate with product managers to refine requirements and coordinate with partner teams on integration strategies for crossfunctional initiatives. You will contribute to strategic technical planning by evaluating emerging technologies identifying optimization opportunities within existing systems and shaping the technical roadmap. You will participate in hiring interviews helping maintain Amazons high engineering standards while building a strong diverse team. 3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language

3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
