Job Title: Food Service Director
Location: Perry Local Schools
Position Available: August 1 2025
Working Days: 220 days
Compensation: Competitive commensurate with experience

Job Summary:
The Perry Local Schools are seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Service Director to lead and manage our districtwide school nutrition program. The ideal candidate will be passionate about child nutrition committed to food quality and safety and capable of administering a costeffective and compliant food service operation that supports student health and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operations of all school cafeterias in the district.
Ensure compliance with federal state and local regulations (e.g. USDA NSLP).
Develop nutritious appealing menus that meet the needs of diverse student populations.
Manage food service staff including hiring training scheduling and performance evaluation.
Prepare and monitor budgets track expenses and ensure financial sustainability.
Coordinate with vendors and manage procurement of food and supplies.
Implement and monitor food safety and sanitation standards.
Promote healthy eating through education initiatives and community engagement.
Analyze participation data and develop strategies to increase program effectiveness.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Nutrition Food Service Management or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 35 years of experience in institutional food service preferably in K12 education.
Knowledge of federal and state child nutrition program requirements.
ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Strong leadership organizational and communication skills.
Ability to manage budgets staffing and compliance documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Registered Dietitian (RD) or School Nutrition Specialist (SNS) certification
Experience with menu planning software and pointofsale systems
