Job Description
Patient Care Representative
As an Orthopedic Patient Care Representative your responsibilities include answering phone calls scheduling rescheduling and canceling patient appointments. Completing tasks such as scheduling inhouse MRIs DME appointments transferring calls to the correct departments and sorting faxes. As a Patient Care Representative you are the first point of contact with potential patients and work as their personal scheduling agent. Calls are answered one at a time through amultifunctional switchboard called Webex. We use scheduling software Athena.
Patient Care Representative Requirements:
- Have a positive and upbeat attitude at all times
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office to include Outlook Microsoft Teams and Word
- Ability to work effectively with customers and your coworkers while handling multiple tasks simultaneously
- Multitasker
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment
- Ability and desire to learn new things and improve processes
- Ability to listen and understand patient and provider concerns
- Self and situational awareness
Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 yearof relevant experience scheduling in a medical office environment
- Thorough understanding of medical office workflows
- 1 year of experience working with EHR.
