Job Description
Job Title: Hotel Engineer / Maintenance Technician
Location: Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Foley AL
Department: Engineering/Maintenance
Reports To: General Manager
Position Summary:
The Hotel Engineer is responsible for the overall maintenance and repair of the hotels physical facilities and systems ensuring a safe functional and welcoming environment for guests and team members. This role requires handson technical skills preventative maintenance knowledge and the ability to address guestrelated issues efficiently while upholding Marriott brand standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform daily inspections routine maintenance and repair work on mechanical electrical plumbing HVAC and other hotel systems.
Respond promptly to maintenance service requests from guests or team members and resolve issues with minimal disruption.
Conduct preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
Maintain the appearance and functionality of guest rooms public areas backofhouse and exterior grounds.
Monitor and maintain the pool and spa area to ensure water quality and compliance with health codes (if applicable).
Ensure compliance with fire safety and health regulations including maintaining safety logs and completing safety training.
Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors as needed.
Maintain tools supplies and work areas in a clean organized and safe condition.
Assist with energy management and costcontrol efforts in utilities and repairs.
Participate in emergency response situations such as power outages plumbing leaks and weatherrelated incidents.
Maintain accurate records of work orders inspections and maintenance logs.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification in a relevant field preferred.
12 years of general maintenance experience in a hotel or similar facility required.
Strong working knowledge of basic plumbing electrical and general building repairs. HVAC knowledge is a plus but not required.
Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and hotel safety/security protocols.
Selfmotivated dependable and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Flexible availability including evenings weekends and oncall shifts as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to stand walk climb ladders kneel and crouch for extended periods.
Ability to work in various conditions including indoors outdoors heat and cold.
