ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Audible Books Content Acquisition Team EU owns the full cycle business relationships with the authors writers content creators literary agents and recognized IP brands that serve as Audibles top global creators in the literary space. In this role youll generate negotiate and close a high volume of new deals and deal renewals for audio original and bookbased audio content with prospective and current top partners at terms that benefit Audible customers. Youll be responsible for acquired content ensuring successful postsigning goes to market planning across the relevant teams at Audible and Amazon and contribute to defining strategic development affecting Audibles overall growth and success.
This position is open through a 24months contract.
As an Associate Director Audible Books Content Acquisition EU you will...
Initiate develop grow and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential content partners including authors writers content creators agents and IP brands
Independently manage prioritize and execute high volume deal flow structuring negotiating and executing deals that support Audibles content strategy and initiatives
Leverage your expertise and judgment to lead local initiatives determine appropriate goals inform critical decisions manage and set partner expectations and design longterm solutions that constantly align your marketplace(s) with Audibles global strategy while delivering consistent local growth
Handle complex negotiations and multideal partnerships at both strategic and tactical levels owning decisions and escalations while balancing tradeoffs between short and longterm needs
Identify and prepare projects for internal support and valuation by presenting data preparing budgets P&Ls and drafting proposed deal terms
Build relationships and represent the Audible Books team to various internal stakeholders including Editorial/Creative Finance BI Marketing PR Content Services Content Partnerships and Content Creation teams
Track and communicate deal terms within the organization and provide for first line of enforcement of deal terms if necessary
Oversee the endtoend lifecycle of all negotiated audiobook titles from contract signature to release ensuring seamless coordination data sharing and continuous support to Production Content Operations Deal Operations Marketing and all other relevant crossfunctional teams
Maintain strong relationships with rights holders throughout the entire process acting as the first point of contact for onboarding productiontorelease alignment and troubleshooting any issues that may arise with each title

Experience in a content acquisition publishing agency media rights business development or digital media role with an understanding of the book and audio content industries
Experience in negotiating complex agreements with a firm grasp of legal terminology financial modeling and underlying legal and financial reasoning
Exceptional organizational analytical decisionmaking and problemsolving skills with the ability to thrive in a fastpaced and rapidly evolving environment
Experience effectively communicating through complex concepts and ideas in a clear and concise manner across different levels of the organization
Business fluency in English and German
Experience using Salesforce Excel PowerPoint and companywide data analysis and Project Management tools
Business fluency in additional European languages particularly Italian French Spanish or Portuguese is a plus
Ability to operate in a highenergy highintensity and rapidly evolving environment
Resourceful selfstarter with an independent attitude and focus on excellence
Comprehensive understanding of both traditional and digital media spaces with a strong emphasis on the audio content industry
Proven extensive network in the local and international book publishing industry especially with authors and literary agencies
Proven track record of acquiring or selling audio rights and navigating the complexities of the audio content landscape
Passionate about storytelling the evolution of audio theater music books and consuming audio content
Demonstrated experience in independently leading a territory/program where your work significantly impacted longterm strategic goals and objectives
Ability to work with cross functional teams under tight deadlines
