Job Description

The Coop Refinery Complex (CRC) is hiring an Operations Superintendent on a permanent basis in Regina SK.

Are you ready to lead a highperforming team at one of Canadas largest integrated refining and upgrading facilities The Coop Refinery Complex processes up to 130000 barrels of crude oil per day and were looking for an experienced operations leader to help drive safety reliability and continuous improvement. What youll do:

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all aspects of operations within an assigned zone ensuring safe reliable and efficient refinery performance across multiple process units.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety environmental and operational standards including PSM and oversee emergency response readiness and workforce training.
  • Monitor and optimize unit performance to achieve targets in production yield quality energy efficiency and reliability.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on safety cost efficiency and operational excellence and support sustained utilization and improvement of Operational Excellence Management System.
  • Manage operating procedures budgeting and represent the zone in leadership meetings and planning discussions.
  • Prepare and manage zone budgets forecasts and operational plans in line with site business objectives. Collaborate with Maintenance HSE Technical Services and Capital Projects teams to align on maintenance execution turnaround planning and project integration.

The Team: You will oversee an assigned zone within the refinery with direct reports including Unit Operations Advisors and Engineers Process Section Supervisor and indirect reports of Frontline Supervisors and over 100 unionized team members.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in operations leadership and:

  • Have 10 years of progressive experience in refinery or petrochemical operations including at least 5 years in supervisory or superintendentlevel roles.
  • Have a bachelors degree in engineering (ideally chemical) or a Power Engineering certificate (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
  • Have proven ability to lead diverse teams and manage complex operational environments.
  • Have strong technical knowledge of refining processes relevant to the designated zone (e.g. Crude/Vacuum Sulphur Hydrogen Reforming Utilities).
  • Have a solid understanding of regulatory and safety compliance frameworks.
  • Have excellent communication leadership problemsolving and organizational skills.
