Job Description

Position Summary:

The Baker is responsible for producing highquality baked goods including artisan breads pastries cakes and other specialty items. This role involves preparing ingredients following recipes and ensuring the highest standards of freshness taste and presentation. The Baker works closely with the Head baker and pastry team and other kitchen staff to maintain a clean and efficient work environment while adhering to health and safety regulations. The Baker contributes to the hotels luxurious culinary experience ensuring that guests enjoy exceptional baked items across all hotel dining outlets.

Key Responsibilities:

People

  • Attend training and development programs as and when required.
  • Foster a positive respectful and highperformance kitchen culture.

Operations

  • Prepare bake and present dishes in your area with the highest standards.
  • Monitor portion and waste control
  • Ensure mise en place is completed before service.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources and minimize food waste.
  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes according to hotel recipes and standards.
  • Maintain high levels of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and workstation.
  • Ensure mise en place is completed before service.
  • Support Head Baker and Pastry Chef service with efficient and timely preparation.
  • Follow proper food handling and storage procedures.
  • Work in various sections of the kitchen as assigned.
  • Keep kitchen equipment clean and properly maintained.

Compliance & Safety

  • Enforce strict adherence to food safety hygiene and sanitation standards.
  • Maintain compliance with local health regulations and food handling policies.
  • Follow instructions and trainings given and report difficulties.

Qualifications :

Formal culinary training or diploma from a recognized culinary institution preferred.

  • 12 years of kitchen experience ideally in a 4 or 5star hotel or fine dining restaurant.
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the culinary field.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Passionate about food innovation and guest experience
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20kg
