Job Description
ETCOG is seeking an experienced and missiondriven leader to serve as our Director for the Area Agency on Aging. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of a comprehensive coordinated human service system supporting older adults caregivers veterans and individuals with disabilities across our fourteencounty East Texas region. The Director will lead strategic planning and program development efforts in alignment with the Older Americans Act manage internal operations ensure regulatory compliance and build meaningful partnerships that enhance the quality of life for our regions aging population. This position plays a vital role in advocating for and responding to regional needs while promoting innovative service delivery through collaborative leadership fiscal stewardship and a deep commitment to public service.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelors degree in Business Public Administration or a related Social Sciences field (masters preferred) along with a minimum of five years of progressive experience in managing or administering human services programs including at least five years in a direct supervisory or management capacity. A combination of education and experience will be considered. Candidates should bring exceptional leadership communication and consensusbuilding skills with a commitment to excellence in public service.

East Texas Council of Governments is a voluntary association of counties cities school districts and special districts within the fourteencounty East Texas region. We assist local governments in planning for common needs cooperating for mutual benefit and coordinating for sound regional development. Either directly or through our contractors ETCOG provides programs and services for East Texas seniors employers and job seekers. We also build the 911 emergency call delivery system provide peace officer training and homeland security planning services; and deliver rural transportation services business finance programs grant writing services and environmental grant funding for the region.
