Primary Purpose
Responsible for midlevel Grounds maintenance under general supervision.
Essential Functions
Perform maintenance of campus grounds using small and large equipment and hand tools and oversee and assist on crews. Work on special projects. Perform irrigation work; refuse removal tree maintenance and field painting. Performs minor repair of equipment. Assists with setup and teardown of outdoor stages tarps tables and chairs. Identifies maintenance or repair need and reports to appropriate personnel. Assists in special constructions projects as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
Three (3) years of experience in the field with considerable experience in grounds maintenance. High School Diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of maintenance and operation of grounds equipment small and large. Possess good communication skills and works well with others. Working knowledge of lawn maintenance irrigation work and of lawn maintenance equipment use and repair. Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice equity and inclusion in a university setting. Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
Work Schedule
Work performed during standard business hours. Must be willing to work weekends. Union guidelines nonexempt.
