Job Description
Head Start Birth5 has an opening for a fulltime Early Head Start Teacher position working 35 hours per week. Responsible for the planning organization and implementation of education services for Early Head Start infants and toddlers ages 6 weeks to 3 years old. Will work in collaboration with a Co Teacher and Classroom Aide to prepare and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans utilizing researchbased curriculum as designated by the Head Start Birth5 program. This position will complete the required developmental behavioral and sensory screenings within the required time allotted and complete duties and responsibilities as they relate to the Head Start Performance Standards Indiana Day Care Licensing Regulations CACFP Guidelines and Head Start Birth5 Forms and Procedures Manual.
Childhood Development Associate (CDA) credential or comparable credential and have been trained or have equivalent coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant toddler development required. LHDC may provide onthejob training to obtain the appropriate credentials if necessary. Associates or Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education and experience teaching infants and toddlers preferred.
Must meet Head Start and Indiana Childcare Licensing Regulations including Head Start Standards of Conduct federal and state criminal history requirements sex offender registry checks drug screen physical and complete an annual T.B. test.
