Calibration Technician

Summary:Tests calibrates and repairs electrical mechanical electromechanical and electronic measuring recording and indicating instruments and equipment for conformance to established standards and assists in formulating calibration standards by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Plans sequence of testing and calibration procedures for instruments and equipment.

Participates in onthejob training and related formal education.

Operates computer software for instrument controllers/computers following established formats and programs. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of internal and proprietary software.

Sets up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test evaluate and calibrate other instruments and test equipment.

Disassembles instruments and equipment and inspects components for defects.

Measures parts for conformity with specifications. Aligns repairs replaces and balances component parts and circuitry.

Reassembles and calibrates instruments and equipment.

Estimated 1030% offsite travel to nuclear power plants for field testing services.

Education/Experience: HS/GED completion. Twoyear degree from tech school or equivalent is preferred.

Language Ability: Fluent in English. Ability to read write reports and business correspondence and procedure manuals in English.

Math Ability: Basic mathematical skills with the ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of Office 365 and Adobe and the ability to learn proprietary software.

Certificates and Licenses: Clean driving record required

Travel: Potential offsite field service travel. May include local or domestic travel in the United States. Travel to Nuclear facilities for testing services likely. Requirements include clean background and banned substance check to obtain access to said facilities. Travel may account for 15% of position responsibilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
