Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Lines Underwriting Manager to lead a team of underwriters in evaluating and managing commercial property and casualty insurance risks. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical underwriting expertise leadership ability and a focus on driving profitable growth through sound risk selection and portfolio management.
COMPENSATION
- $100000 $120000/year

REQUIREMENTS
- 7 years of commercial lines underwriting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of commercial property general liability and workers compensation coverages.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical communication and decisionmaking abilities.
- Bachelors degree in insurance business or related field (CPCU or AU designation preferred).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and mentor a team of commercial lines underwriters ensuring high performance and development.
- Oversee underwriting decisions for new and renewal business within assigned authority levels.
- Develop and implement underwriting guidelines procedures and best practices.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic initiatives and product development.
- Monitor portfolio performance and take corrective action when needed to maintain profitability.
- Build and maintain strong agency/broker relationships.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to inform underwriting strategy.
